The members of the Orange County Police Cadet Corps Law Enforcement Post 5110 are sponsored by and chartered to the Orange County Sheriff Carl E. DuBois. The Explorer Post operates under the guidelines of the Hudson Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Objectives of Explorer Post 5110
Explorer Post 5110 is a leadership program that gives young adults interested in a career in law enforcement a chance to explore all facets of law enforcement.
The program furthers its members' general education and assists the Explorer Cadet in preparing for a fascinating career in Law Enforcement.
In addition to the benefits an Explorer gains through the program, we also provide
our community with outstanding young citizens that display positive habits, attitudes, and practices.

Eligibility and Requirements
In order to participate in the Law Enforcement Explorer Program, an individual must:
1. Be within ages 14 to 21
2. Have parental approval if the applicant is under the age of 18
3. Be of sound physical health
4. Maintain appearance and grooming in accordance with the Orange County Sheriff's Office policy
Explorers must at all times, in and out of uniform, conduct themselves in a courteous and responsible manner.

Meetings· Explorer Post 5110 conducts regularly scheduled meetings every Thursday of the week.
· Meetings begin promptly at 1800 hrs. (6pm) and end at 2000 hrs. (8pm) · Meetings are held at the Orange County Sheriff's Office, located at 110 Wells Farm Road in Goshen, New York · Topics of instruction vary and can include anything related to law enforcement · Not all meetings are held in a classroom atmosphere. Often practical scenarios are planned, which gives the Explorers a chance to participate in simulated situations and learn from their mistakes. |
